• Geisha for several centuries with the Danna in the Kuchiki Clan by Ginrei for his daughter. Both Ginrei and Hotaru have no relationshiop except respect. Ginrei's daughter loved Hotaru and her beautiful art along with her fan dancing. The two were close friends as well as Hotaru teaching Ginrei's daughter who is the Aunt of Byakuya. Teaching flower arranging, fan dances, talking of poetry and tea serving parties.

• During the time Aizen turned Shinji and the others into Visords but Aizen didn't turn her. Instead Aizen used an old blade he used when he was younger before the Soul Society to stab her in the uterus and ripped out part of her uterus and one of her fallopian tubes along with some tissue connecting her right leg. A large horrific scars is now left from the middle of where her uterus up to her right hip and two inches above her hip. Hotaru still feels pain with every step she takes in which she takes pain medicine to dull the pain, as she knows shes going to feel pain there the rest of her life.

 Family: Hotaru was lonely while living alone with her Zanpakuto whom she is very close to and since she can't have kids so she decided to adopt.

The woman was just 19 and on drugs with no family to go too. Hotaru was seen by the young girl before he spirit passed on that Hotaru will watch over him. It was then Hotaru adopted Pierce as she loved on the boy but made sure if he asked about his mother she would tell him about her and they will visit her grave that Hotaru paid for. Pierce is a lawyer but on the side is a drummer for a small band his friends still have and play at just some small bars as his friends also have other jobs besides the band.

 Personality:

• Hotaru is very soft spoken when she was a Geisha and had the most sweet personality while around guest. Even when she wasn't performing she is still a sweet patience person even in her size when she was the size of a child though was older in age. She cares about others and even teaches at the Geisha school from time to time and is very patience even if someone has trouble learning something.

 Height: 4" 150 years in the past when she was a Geisha and Shinigami; after leaving Japan in the years she grew to her new height 5' 6'', wears nearly five inch stylish expensive heels making her taller but she owns a great deal of heels.

 Hair: Jet black with her bangs falling below her eyebrows with her side bangs fall along her face. Her orginal hair length was to her hips and kept it in a ponytail while she was a shinigami. After she left she grew it out pass her feet and loves the lenght of it now and keeps it up and many different hairstyles. She also loves to let her granddaughtrer play with her hair as well. 

 Eyes: Hotaru's eyes are a very uncommon color as they are a very bright fuchsia pink/purple mixture, her eyes are so bright you can spot them in the pitch black of night which makes people very uncomfortable around her. Her eye lashes are very long but most don't see it due to her hair stopping just at her eyes.

 Body: Hotaru's body is very slender frame as her body grew from her child like form to a full grown woman. Skin is extremely pale, even in sunlight she will burn but won't tan and her skin is soft like silk when touched. Hotaru's breast are small just being a small B-cup.

• Teeth: Hotaru's canines on top and bottom are a bit longer than normal; she also has three more as two more behind the orginal appear as her regular teeth form into fangs on both top and bottom making her teeth look unnatural when she laughs out loud with everyone to see but often doesn't smile big or others will see. This happened when she split her own soul by merging it with her Zanpakuto as she took on some appearance changes that are similar to Akumu.

• Make-up: Hotaru is very skilled with applying make-up even her own brand she uses. Her favorite lipstick is what she always wears unless she uses a deep dark red color or uses a bright scarlett color. Even her nails are beautifully colored with gold designs. But returning to her old home is black with evil eyes painted on with nail jewels to pull the look together

 Cloths: Hotaru has a huge fashion sense and a ton of expensive cloths, shoes, jewelry, and in many different colors. Due to being a shinigami and always wearing black, at S.O.U.L. she wears mostly white as she doesn't often go into battle, though even in battle she never gets dirty or blood on her. Yet when she trains in training cloths she wears but wears heels all the time. Hotaru has more shoes than cloths as she enjoys the beauty of the design of shoes. So that being said, Hotaru can fight in a fight in 4 to 6 inch heels without sweating or break the tiny heel.

                  

 Master Swordsmen: Hotaru has trouble first weilding a blade when she entered the Shinigami academy but she had help from her Danna Ginrei and little Byakuya to help her improve. Over the years, Hotaru has improved drastically as she can even weild her blade in both hands and even other blades or her fan blades which she uses as she is extremely skilled by wielding a fan no matter if the fan has blades or not. Hotaru also has mastered other weapon style to be more adapt in fighting and fighting against other enemies.

 Reiryoku/Reiatsu:

• Immense Spiritual Power: Hotaru's Spiritual wasn't weak when she was a Geisha as she could sense people by their Reiatsu. Yet as years passed as a shinigami and after leaving; Hotaru has an extremely power spiritual power that she keeps hidden by a pair of black crystal earrings which was given to her by a Prince after she save him and his family. With this the spiritual power is completely hidden but when angered, the pressure around her will actually make her surrounding shake like an earthquake is happening, but without the earrings. The pressure is throat choking can't breath to the amount of fear you will feel has paralized everyone around her.

 Reiatsu: 

• Hotaru's reiatsu is the color of a Dark Purple mixed with black mixed in. Once really angry and full Bankai is solid black. The shape that Hotaru's reiatsu takes the shape of a figure with a visious looking face with sharp teeth mouth with glowing eyes the same as Hotaru's. The face takes shape of a figure as if it will take hold of her enemy and devor him or her whole. The effect that her Reiatsu has on others is Fear, causing to paralize her enemy and is so powerful some have a hard time breathing. Due to this effect, Hotaru hides both her Reiryoku/Reiatsu with a special kind earrings she always wear to hide the effect but if she takes the earrings off, oh boy it isn't a pretty sight to be around her when she releases her energy.

 Kidō Master: 

• Hotaru LOVES Kido!!! When she entered the academy she studied like crazy as she had great talent in learning and performing Kido spells easily. Some she was able to cast without the incantations for harder Kido spells. As she traveled Hotaru learned many new spells to use in battle which she uses more than her blade but if she has to use her Zanpakuto then she means business and it won't end pretty.

 Shunpo:

• When starting out in the academy, Hotaru was very slow as her body was weak. Byakuya and Yoruichi whom helped her but after leaving to help the Visords. Kisuke and Yoruichi trained Hotaru hard to improve and now she is an expert but doesn't use Shunpo a whole lot due to her Scar she has. On'y uses it but she has help from Akumu to help move her within the shadows it looks like Shunpo but if look closely her feet are in her portal to her inner world.

 Hakuda/ Hand-to-Hand Combat: 

• Due to being a Geisha, Hotaru's hands we always so soft as they are suppose to be and Hotaru being weak suffered many bruises and some broke or cracked bones. Again went through a ton of training and can keep up in a fight but often in a fight to hit special pressure points to immobilize her opponent where he or she can't move.

                  

 Zanpakuto Name: "Mayonaka no Akumu"

 Zanpakuto Name Translation: "Midnight Nightmare"

 Zanpakuto Power Type: Kido and Illusion

 Zanpakuto Appearance: The blade is a normal katana weapon but in the years that have passed. Hotaru has designed her blade into black long cane with a large purple gem.

 Zanpakuto Sheath: Seal Cursed Katana Blade of a creature thousand of years old that was here before the Gotei 13 was made. The sheath that holds the blade is black with gold engravings made to look like eyes with the pupils slitted like snakes.

 Zanpakuto Guard:

• The Guard is in the shape similar to an Scary Oni Demon Mask.

 Zanpakuto Hilt:

• The color matte purple with the undercloth being gold color almost made of the most expensive silk ever made with a magenta gem at the base near the hilt and at the end of the hilt. Dangling from the end of the hilt is black silken rope in a braid with round pendent with the same color gem on the on the hilt as the pendent was the shape of a oni mask.

 Zanpakuto Release:

• Terrorize Thy Enemy, Terrorize Thy Soul, Terrorize Until Nothing Is Left Whole

 Zanpakuto Special Ability:

• Is to take your Greatest Fear and use it against you in Illusions you can't break from. The ability takes effect when someone hits Hotaru's blade which lets out a small screech of a scream but the enemies fear Hotaru can see what it is; also her enemy sees the fear for a few seconds but enough to make him or her to cause them to be in fear.

 Zanpakuto Shikai release Form:

• Hotaru's katana changes into two large folding fans that were black with gold etching on the black metal that held the fan open and held the hidden blades. The Gold was in a design of Evil looking Eyes. The fabric of the fan is a eggplant purple color with black fur at the very top hiding the tips of the blades hidden in her fan. Intricate designs in black, bright purple, and purple on the fabric. Dangling from the bottom of the fan is the same braid that is on the hilt is now on both fans with a loop where she places hands through so she doesn't loose her fans or drop them. Both fans are large; when closed the lenght of the fan is 12 inches and when opened the full lenght from on end to the other is 24 inches wide, 12 height.

 Zanpakuto Shikai Release Effect On Hotaru:

• Hotaru's eyes are then revealed as they are now, snake like and dangerous.With seeing ther person's Fear, Hotaru can even see when the first time the Fear began to start from whatever made her enemy Fear what she is showing him or her. She can even sound like the Fear to instill Fear by taunting her victim. Hotaru can even recreate how the Fear began in her Illusions making it even hardered for her victim to get out of the illusion. No one else can see the Illusion besides Hotaru and whomever she is fighting, anyone else will just see someone freaking out at something that isn't really there.
  

 Zanpakuto Shikai Kido Attacks:

• Yume no Himei (Dream Scream): A medium size ball to large ball of energy the same as her Reiatsu is sent of from Hotaru's fans from the tips of her hidden blade tips that hids in the feathers. The attack is sent out in a swinging outward motion like slashing someone or just a quick flip of her fan. The movement of her fans is extremely fast with a high pitch scream coming off the attack as if someone as screaming in terror. This attack is used very often in ranged attacks.

 Zanpakuto Bankai: Achieved

 Zanpakuto Bankai Name: "Akushitsuna ō no mayonaka no akumu no ōkoku"
 Zanpakuto Bankai Name Translation: "Vicious King of the Midnight Nightmare Realm"

 Zanpakuto Bankai Release Form:

• Both fans look more of a weapon than a beautiful decorative fan. The blades stick out of the looking jagged and visious looking in color black. The silken fan was black with horrified faces screaming in a color of royal purple with in the background is six eyes of bright gold menicing eyes with slitted pupils at the very top of the silken fabric of the fan. But these fans aren't the original Bankai for of the blade, it was a large black twisted Reaper Scythe of black metal. Twisted up iat the top form of skeleton ribcage, head tilted back mouth wide, arms bent back onto holding a blade that was twisted into elegant design of gold etching on the black blade was slitted eyes of wickedness loking in all different directions. Blade is long, metal black hands reaching all up the rib cage as if it was trying to drag it down into the pits of hell. Black thorns twist down at the bottom into a 5inch point. The scythe is the weapon Akumu used before he was sealed as and made it sure it will be used in this Bankai.
  
  
• Akumu is the one who created the Dueling Decorative fans as it fits her better and for his Queen to move. BUT. Hotaru knows how to weild this weapon with extreme skill can use this weapon even it looking heavy, it is only light in the owner of the zanpakuto anyone else who tries to steal, it weighs as if it has 300 tons on it. Noone will be able to move it, if it falls down down to the ground from high up, it leaves a very large crater in the ground. 
  

 Zanpakuto Bankai Release Effect On Hotaru: 

• Hotaru's appearance starts to change; Hotaru's hair moves on its own and when frustrated or angered it moves in waves or levitate around her as if a wind wildly moves around her. Very much like Eris in the movie: Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas

 Zanpakuto Bankai Special Ability: 

• Due to being able to control Fear, the blade also collects each time someone hits her blade and is able to use the Fear against her Opponent. But with Bankai, Hotaru can release hordes of Fear in all shapes and sizes but so much worst onto her opponent and the surrounding areas that go as far as 20 miles in all directions.
  
  
• There is a time limit to Hotaru's Bankai which she was able to reach up to 60 minutes. Hotaru knows the horrible effect that is permament on her enemies but what happens to her is that in Akumu's words is that once the time limit is up, "Hotaru becomes the Nightmare itself." The hell of Fear itself is released. Noone has ever survived once the limit is up. 

 Zanpakuto Bankai Kido Attacks:

• Kyōki no Yume no Himei (Insanity Dream Scream): Is very much like Yume no Himei, but now it's power has tripled. This attack is super fast and many are not able to dodge without still getting really hurt. the blast alone when it explodes leaves medium size craters.

 Becoming Part Zapakuto / Forbidden Act:

• After leaving Japan with the help of Kisuke and saving money as much as Hotaru could. Hotaru traveled vastly alone besides Akumu in her Zanpakuto. Yet even alone the two were closer than any relationship anyone could ever imagine. As they traveled seeing new countries, learning new langues, and even meeting other Soul Societies both Akumu and Hotaru still felt like outcast as many other Souls they met did not trust them.

 Forbidden Act / Special Features Given To Hotaru:

• Is able to move back and forth from her Zanpakuto's Inner World unlike others who meditate to enter their Inner World.
